The optional theme for October:  Toys
----------------------------------------------------------------------

"Don't take your toys inside just because it's raining."                 ~Cher

"I've been afraid of people playing their life away with to many toys."
                                                                                           ~Ray Bradbury

"I think LEGOs are one of the best toys ever developed.  ~Adam Savage

"The other day, I noticed I'd arranged my spices in alphabetical order
when I was on the phone, without even realizing and when I was a kid
I was constantly cleaning and organizing things-my toys, my sister's
cosmetics."                                                                      ~Jayma Mays

"Toy companies aren't interested in ideology, they want to sell toys. If they
would sell a toy that both boys and girls would buy it doubles the profits."
                                                                              ~Christina Hoff Summers

"I was lucky enough to grow up in a home where I woke up Christmas
morning and had toys. I know that's not the case with all people and I
don't think kids should go without experiencing that sort of joy."
                                                                                  ~Lucy Hale

"My toys were those of a boy: skates, bicycles."      ~Frieda Kahlo

"Teddy Bears never forget, but we do."                    ~Anthony T. Hicks

"Pixar is filled with people who don't get rid of their toys." ~Lee Unkrich

"If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?"
                                                                                    ~Steven Wright

"The simplest toy one which even the youngest child can operate, is
called a grandparent."                                                ~Sam Levenson

"No matter how old you are if a little kid hands you a toy phone...
you answer it."                                                      ~Dave Chapppelle

"People want poetry and read it-we need what's not honored by the
corporate mentality that has taken over. It gives people a language
for responding to the violence, the shallowness, the near nothings,
the toys we're all supposed to want. It's a way for people to be able
to connect with themselves."                                ~Joan Larkin

Poetry Sharing is divided into two sessions. People read up to two poems a session
(4-5 minutes). Snacks always appreciated for the break. Thanks for the wonderful
evening in September. Let's do it again.  Cal
