Janis Ellison is a signature pastel artist drawn to the dramatic landscape of Southern Oregon where she shares her vision in both oil and pastel with collectors and students. “Working in Pastel really gets my creative juices flowing. I like the immediacy of applying color, the variety of papers, techniques, and textures that allow me to respond spontaneously anew to each painting. I can’t get enough of painting outdoors, ‘Plein Air’ and can be found in the field with my easel working to capture that last light of day.”
