Barbara has enjoyed working with color and crafts since she was a young girl.
Being interested in painting as a young mother but never having anytime, it wasn't until she was an empty nester that she gave it another try.
Barbara is a native Oregonian, growing up in the Rogue Valley, graduating from Crater High School. After marrying her high school sweetheart, Bruce, they hit the road. Bruce's job with the government sent them to many interesting and fun cities to live.
They raised their two daughters in the Boston area. Carol now living there with her husband, Blaise, and their four children, Cam 14, Joe 10, Jake 8, and Carly 6. Karen, also born in Oregon, while a few years in Corvallis, is practicing medicine in the Denver area.
While living in Rockville, Md., outside the Washington D.C. area, Barbara took a watercolor class at the Smithsonian with Sherry Kaskey, a well known artist in the area. This was just the beginning.
Barbara has exhibited her work in numerous shows and been in various galleries in the area, receiving many awards.
"Painting is always a challenge and I'm always excited to start new projects.
When I find a new subject I can't wait for it to be finished just so I can start another. My biggest thrill is when someone likes my work and even better when they want to take it home with them."
