Companions of the Heart Paintings by Linda Martz and Debbie Claussen portray endearing images of man's best friend and other four legged creatures. Linda Martz Linda Martz has always wanted to be an artist. When she finally arrived at the doors of art school in midlife she fell in love with ceramics and sculpture. And then she discovered paint and truly began to understand the meaning of obsession. "I love to paint. I paint everyday and it is still not enough. Like so many, I put my need to create art in the background of my life. But when I finally discovered color and form, paint and canvas, I found a new energy." "It has taken me many years to find this very deep, personal and rich satisfaction. There is something about creating a painting that tells a story, that touches a heart, or causes a smile that brings me joy."
Debbie Claussen Debbie Claussen has enjoyed sketching since she was a small child. From the beginning, it was animals and people that were her favorite subjects. She has exhibited her porcelain paintings in museum shows around the country. Over 15 years ago, Debbie added watercolor, colored pencils and oil painting to her list of accomplishments. She enjoys each medium for its own uniqueness and the way it impacts the final concept of the painting. Debbie’s love of animals and the desire to capture the essence of the subject, creates a welcome challenge for her as an artist. She is particularly noted for her ability to bring the animal to life, showing the subject’s personality along with its physical traits.
The Avian Art of Stefan Savides Stefan Savides was first known as an accomplished taxidermist. Soon, he started transforming his artistry into bronzes. "These limited edition bronzes echo the more than 40 years Stefan has devoted to the study of form, three-dimensional design and the anatomy of nature's creatures. Skill, attention to detail and sensitivity to the life within, reflect in his bronzes."
